Here Are My Top 3 Mistakes I Did During Medical School

I wish someone could have warned me regarding those mistakes at the beginning of my medical school journey:

Not joining student clubs from the beginning.

I became active in student clubs in my 4th year.

I wish I had done it in my first year. I met great people in student clubs, made great connections, and attended joyful, entertaining, and educational events. I even became a research executive in one of the clubs and taught research to over 40 students;

Teaching was a great experience, and I loved every second of it.

Not doing academic research from the beginning.

I always thought of research as something so big that only well-renowned doctors can do it.

Or medical students who have spent thousands of hours reading papers within the field they want to do research, I was wrong. All you need to do is start small.

Start with a case report, join research clubs, learn research online, and start to apply what you've learned.

Then, see the results.

Being friends with low-energy people

Having Low-energy people around will drag you down as well, so me being in Turkey and, to be honest, regarding us Turks, most of us are negative!

The reason is that we are more involved in politics and news in our daily lives than other countries and are constantly bombarded with bad news.

It's on you to filter out the negative people and surround yourself with the optimistic ones. Otherwise, you are getting yourself dragged down!
